1,000+ Celebrations Later: Your Complete Guide to a Destination Wedding at Shree Ganga Cottages, Kullu

1,000+ celebrations later, here is everything we know.
Your complete guide to a destination wedding at Shree Ganga Cottages & Resort in Raison: the venue, the stay, the food, the planning timeline and how to get here.
Some venues host a wedding. We have hosted more than a thousand events, so we know when the baraat will run late, which corner of the lawn catches the last light, and how many extra blankets the grandparents will ask for after dinner.
Destination weddings, ring ceremonies, haldi and mehendi afternoons, receptions, family reunions and corporate gatherings. This guide brings together what all of those celebrations have taught us, so your wedding in the mountains feels as easy as it looks in the photographs.
Why couples choose Raison
Raison is a small cluster of villages on the banks of the Beas, about 12 km from Kullu and 29 km from Manali on the Manali highway. It sits in the heart of the Kullu valley, yet it is calm in a way the busier stretches of Manali rarely are. Apple orchards climb the slopes, pine forests frame the horizon, and the river runs close enough to hear in the quiet moments of a ceremony.
Your guests get the mountain holiday they were hoping for, the photographs get a backdrop no decorator can build, and nobody fights traffic between functions. Raison is also the traditional starting point for white-water rafting on the Beas, so the cousins who arrive a day early always have something to do.

What 1,000+ events have taught us
Every celebration is different, but a few lessons keep repeating. We now build these into every wedding we plan.
Keep everyone in one place
When the wedding party stays on the property, functions start on time and nobody misses the pheras because of a mountain road. Our cottages and villas are a short walk from the lawns.
Give each function its own corner
A sunny haldi, a relaxed mehendi, an evening sangeet and the main ceremony each feel different in different parts of the grounds, without anyone needing a car.
Always have a weather plan
Our restaurant and covered spaces mean a sudden shower moves a function indoors instead of cancelling it.
Plan the evenings
The best memories often happen around a bonfire or a barbecue on the lawn, long after the formal programme ends.
One point of contact
Décor, catering, stay, music and timings all run through our team, so the family has one number to call instead of six.

Questions couples ask us
How many guests can you host?
We regularly host intimate ceremonies as well as celebrations of more than a hundred guests. Share your guest count and we will suggest the best layout for each function.
Can we bring our own decorator or photographer?
Yes. Bring your own vendors, or our team can put together décor, catering, music and photography for you.
When is the best time of year?
March to June and September to November are the most popular months for outdoor functions. Winter weddings work with indoor spaces and bonfires. We advise avoiding the peak monsoon weeks for outdoor ceremonies.
Do you host events other than weddings?
Yes. Our 1,000+ events include ring ceremonies, family gatherings, wellness retreats, university seminars and corporate groups.
Your celebration could be number 1,001.
